WHYTELEAFE A 2 CROYDON ATHLETIC B 4
Athletic continued their fine form in search of second place with a hard earned win at Whyteleafe.
After falling a goal behind, Athletic pushed forward and scored what seemed to be a perfectly good goal by Imran Salim, which the referee initially gave, but disallowed after consultation with the linesman.
This inspired Athletic and Josh Galloway scored with a fine shot to equalise.
Athletic had the better of the play, but poor finishing kept the scores level, before Whyteleafe again scored just before the break to go in 2-1 up.
Athletic were the better side and after a couple of fine saves from Stewart Sutton in goal, got their deserved equaliser with a fine effort from Bryan Obonyeo who cut in from the right and fired a low shot past the keeper.
Athletic were now in the ascendancy, and after many decisions going against them, earned a penalty when Bryan was fouled in the box.
Bryan despatched the penalty with some applom and Athletic were on their way to a fine win.
Joel Nesbeth added a fourth with a fine goal close in on the keeper, and Rhys Whittle who came on as a substitute worked exceptionally hard to keep the ball in Whyteleafes half.
All of the lads deserve credit for a fine performance today, and a win in their last game next week will guarantee at least a 3rd position and depending on other results could finish second.
Cmon you Rams
