CROYDON ATHLETIC B 2 CARSHALTON ON THE HILL 2

Athletic earned a draw against a very physical Carshalton side and on the balance of play deserved more than just a point.

Athletic took a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to a fine shot by Remi Gymah.

Early in the second half, Shayan Yildiz had to deputise in goal due to an injury to the goalkeeper, and made some fine saves to keep the score at 1-0.

Athletic had the better of the play with Luke Tan having a great game in midfield, and Conor Hamilton always dangerous from set pieces.

Billy Taylor also had a fine game in defence, but with under 10 minutes to play Carshalton equalised after they were awarded a dubious free-kick from which they scored and within a few minutes they had scored again after a scramble despite efforts from Shayan Yildiz to keep the ball out.

Athletics dogged spirit and determination were rewarded with virtually the last kick when Remi scored his second goal, again after a penalty box scramble, to earn the Rams a well deserved point.
