Athletic initially made hard work of this fixture.

Elite arrived with just 8 players, and put up a very spirited performance against the team gunning for 2nd place.

It took Athletic 20 minutes to score when Bryan Oboneyo opened the scoring.

A spirited Elite side equalised, before Bryan again scored just before the break.

As Elite tired, Athletic ran riot.

Omar Fletcher scored his first goal of the season to make it 3-1 just after the break.
Imran Salim scored twice, and further goals from Jordan Heath-Jospeh, Rhys Whittle,Luke Wilson (2), Danu Shiyamaleswaren (2) put Athletic 11-1 ahead before Reis Yildiz scored his first goal for the club the raptuous cheers from both players and supporters.

Elite scored a well deserved consolation towards the end and their spirit in playing the game with just 8 players deserves special mention.

Now only Karim Maizi and goalkeeper Stewart Sutton are the only players to fail to score this season.

Still in second place, Athletic face one of their rivals for runners-up, Whyteleafe next week, in a must win match for them.

The points tally now exceeds that of last season and progress has clearly been made within this side, who can surely go on top better things.
