Athletic cemented their top of the table position with a very good win, despite losing goalkeeper Ross Sutton in the warm up to an injury, and their captain Jake O'Brien who was on duty with Charlton Athletic.

Rex Cobham deputised in goal and had a fine game, although Woodmansterne really threatend the Athletic goal.

A goalless first half saw Athletic have the best chances.

The second half began with Croydon attacking from the off and following a fine corner from Jamel Johnson a bullet header from Tarik Maizi put Athletic 1-0 up.

Both teams played well and Samuel Ibegbulam soon made it 2-0.

The win was sealed with a fine third from Oshaye Giraud-Hutchinson.

Man of the Match Ryan Green was superb in defence an fully justified his re-call to the team.

With just 5 games left Athletic are closing in on the League and the next 3 weeks could well see the League decided.
