CROYDON ATHLETIC B 3 DOVERHOUSE LIONS 2

A 10th straight league win for Athletic saw them beat top of the table Doverhouse in a close fought game.

Having been beaten at Doverhouse earlier in the season, mainly due to some poor refreeing, it was a pleasing win for Paul Standen's team.

Despite falling a goal behind, a fine equaliser by Joel Nesbeth soon levelled the scores.

Some brilliant close control by Brian Obonyeo saw his superb cross from the byline headed in by Josh Galloway to put Athletic 2-1 ahead.

Doverhouse equalised before half time, thanks to a goalkeeping error, but Athletic were clearly the better side going into the break.

The second half saw few chances, with Athletic having the better ones and the game seemed destined for a 2-2 draw before Joel Nesbeth raced onto a through ball and scored the winner in the last minute to send Athletic supporters crazy.

The win gives Athletic a great chance of a top two finish and a wonderful chance o promotion this year.
