A friendly against an under 11 side from Belmont Utd preceeded the last 1st team home match v Whitstable, on the main stadium pitch.

Athletic more than held their own against the higher age group side and took the lead in the first half thanks to a fine low drive from Tarik Maizi.

The game was played in an excellent spirit and both sides deserve credit for their behaviour and performance on the day.

A very even game was settled early in the second half with a fine solo goal from Jamel Johnson.

The win shows that with promotion to the A Division an almost vertainty, Athletic can more than hold their own.
